Dr. Wurster received her medical degree from the UAG Medical School (Mxco). She integrated her medical foundation with Traditional Chinese Medicine, earning a Master of Science in Acupuncture degree from the Acupuncture Institute, University of Bridgeport.
She is a Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York State licensed acupuncturist.
She is also a Diplomate in Acupuncture and nationally board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Her practice is solely focused on acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. In addition she completed one year in a Master of Arts program in Experiential Health and Healing at the Graduate Institute, Stamford Hospital.
She was fortunate to study under such noted professors as Bernie Siegel, M.D. and Norm Shealy M.D. Dr. Wurster has been involved in academics and clinical research at Yale New Haven Hospital. She has been an adjunct professor at Mercy College; teaching Genetics and Nutrition.
Dr. Wurster’s foundation and knowledge in Western medicine allows her to better understand a patient’s needs and establish a specific treatment program.
Treatments include a variety of modalities or adjunct techniques, such as needle free laser acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, guasha, NADA protocol (used for detox and addiction).
Over the past 5 years, Dr. Wurster has integrated acupuncture into pre and post-surgery treatment having worked in combination with a surgical practice.
Dr. Wurster has a diverse practice in which she specializes in treating children as well as adults.
